Dear Reader,
On July 7, 2026, my fourth novel, and third middle grade horror novel, GIRL FROM THE ASHES was released. It is always truly a blessing to be able to do what I love for a living and celebrate with my loved ones!
This book launch was different in so many ways. For one, this was the first book launch and promotion season I’ve done without social media. I haven’t been on social media in a few months, so this book launched with no reels, no IG posts, no TikToks, etc. I’ll do a separate post on why I decided to do this and the changes I’ve seen soon, so stay tuned for that and subscribe so you don’t miss it.

The second and most exciting was that this was the first book launch I did in conversation with someone! I typically just host a signing to celebrate book launches, but I wanted to do something different this time. When I decided to host a conversation about my book, Jemia from @a.littt.life was the first person who came to mind. Jemia is a literary influencer in my hometown. I knew of her from her always highly anticipated Silent Book Clubs. Once I met her, I instantly liked her and knew we had to connect!
Walking into All Good Books on the day of my launch felt familiar and exciting, as this was also the place where I launched Rhythm and Muse.

The conversation was absolutely amazing, and I feel blessed to say that the room was jam packed! Jemia and I talked about everything from the writing process, how Girl From the Ashes differs from and complements my previous works, writing while being a mom to young kids… so many things that I am so passionate about. The conversation just flowed.
We opened the floor to questions and I answered so many from family, friends, and readers I met for the first time. It was so nice to answer questions from my family and friends. I feel like we talked about my writing process and day-to-day routine in a way that we haven’t before!
It was a great event, and I honestly wish I had the forethought to record it. There were so many beautiful questions asked, and as I said in one of my answers, I’ve always felt the love and support of my family and friends on this journey being an author, since I was just a little girl with a composition book. I am so thankful for that.
GIRL FROM THE ASHES is out now, wherever books are sold. I’ve compiled a list of places for you to buy it from here.
Subscribe so you won’t miss my letters, filled with bookish updates and personal musings.
Love,
India
