Dear Reader,

Happy Autumn! 🙂 I’m very excited for this new season. Not only is it my birthday season, it’s almost time to watch the leaves slowly change from green to orange, and cool, crisp air in the mornings.

Another reason I’m excited for the fall season? I’ll be speaking at the Richland County Public Library (Main Campus) for a Meet the Author Event on October 4, 2026 at 3pm! I’m so excited to speak on my writing process, answer questions, and sign books! This is so timely and exciting, since my latest release, GIRL FROM THE ASHES, is not only set in the Autumn months, but largely takes place in a library!

So much of GIRL FROM THE ASHES is about libraries: both haunted and segregated. To be speaking at RCPL about this novel is such an honor. This is the library system I grew up in; countless summers and weekends were spent here, hundreds of books checked out here, and so much fun was had (and still had) here! When I recently took my sons to the main campus, it was such a beautiful experience to see them marvel over the same artwork I loved as a child.

To be fair, I’m a champion of all libraries/librarians: I’ve spoken at the NCSLMA Librarians Conference, the VAASL Librarians Conference, and the SCASL Librarians Conference… twice! Librarians do so much good work, and I am so appreciative of them.
